Yesterday was hard. I felt like I was stuck in a terrible spot with no way out.
Today - well, it's today. Today I woke up, hauled Aaron to the bathroom, and had a glorious shower while Aaron brushed his teeth and made faces at the mirror, tucked around the corner so I could have privacy.
Then we went down to hang out at the general store, leaving Joey, who is peopled out, at the tent with the cats.

We put a lot more logs around the base of the screen porch so Joey would be comfortable leaving the door open. Ser Pounce-a-lot has a favorite.

There are many logs like it, but this one is mine.
I messaged many, many more places. One who got back to me wished me luck, because it is a hard market for renters out there.
The 29th is looming. I also spent a lot of the day on the phone with various services. Services for families are for families with minor children. I really should have planned my crisis better!
So we got a hotel room. Aaron's SSI and mine comes in about a week before the first, and with that money, we had enough to rent a room until the 17th.
We should get our next SSI around the 26th. Small gap. But a little more time to be a family, together.

I'm too old for this shit, friends. But not as old as Scrunt, who required me to hold up a Pringles so she could sniff it.

She was just 17, if you know what I mean.
In other news, I want these mosquitoes arrested.

Heck those guys.
We went to bed around ten. My night owl self is generally shocked at how early we go to bed. And since it's all one room, if one of us goes down, we all do. Tonight it was Aaron pooping out first.
