22 days! I have learned both that I could probably be ok living in a tiny house alone in the woods, and the kids would not. They might visit with some frequency, but they don't find enjoyment in itself of rustic life.
I'd like to tell you Duchess has come to love her foster sisters, but she at least mostly tolerates them now.

She's still thinking about swatting Pouncy here though.
I made plans with a lovely friend from my high school days to come and visit us in a couple days. She'll bring some things we need - kitty food, people food and firestarters.

No need for kindling!
Another rainy day, not stormy, spent mostly indoors. I am not minding the close quarters so much, but I do miss having an attached bathroom and being able so stand upright.
In the middle of the day Kind Lady and her friend, Also Kind Lady, stopped in and asked if we'd like McDonald's, and if you know Aaron, you know he would levitate a train with his mind for some McDonald's. They brought back chicken nuggets, burgers, and fries, and a nice hot food feast was had.
I get a little teary. These ladies barely know us, but they are sharing their compassion and making things better.
Pounce loves them
It was lovely because the last of the (damp) firewood refused to light at dinnertime.

No boiling water tonight!
Luckily we still had half a loaf of bread and unlike most tents, mine has a toaster now, so the kids had toasted pb&j, and Aaron had some cereal.
I will try to chop off the partially burned wood and try again tomorrow. Then we can have ramen or oatmeal. Or Jiffypop!
Here's a picture of Spaghetti Ciabatta (because she's a square lil loaf) stealing my bedding again.
