Today it reached about a hundred in our tent, and a little more than that in the "feels like" outside the tent. I ended up too dizzy from the heat to get us to the pool, so we just laid around dousing ourselves with the kids' handheld misting fans and using cooling towels.
We also put ice in the misting fans, from the sturdy cooler Rundes loaned us.

I got very little done. I do not weather heat well. I didn't even bother cooking, which would have required a fire. We ate cold cereal, apples, and sandwiches throughout the day.
The tent needs a tidy, and I'll hopefully get to that tomorrow when it will be much cooler.
As evening came, we heard an owl hooting. We hear crows here a lot, and Aaron has told me he's been hearing the owl, but it was the first time I did.
Ms Denise let us know a few days ago that a bear had been seen near camp, too, so we are getting all kinds of critters.
We went to bed as the rain was starting, but then I was woken at 3 or 4 by Joey, who was having some upsetting paranoia that people were outside the tent and talking, but he couldn't hear what they were saying.
I sat up a bit to reassure him, and he was ok. Very grateful he's not delusional, that he is aware he's hallucinating even when the hallucinations are frightening.
Then I was woken again at 5 by the tent slapping me in the head as I lay on my cot. Hail making loud crackling noises and winds strong enough to make the tent judder and boogie.
Once it calms down I am going to try to sleep again.
